EIGHT LIES OF MOTHER

This is a touching story. After reading this, my teardrops fell without I realized. This story reminds me of one of my aunt who has passed away. Her story similar to this story, widow who has to work hard in her life for her children. She also refused to re-marry again, and always gave in for her children. I hope this story will touch your heart like the way it touched me...

The story began when I was a child. I was born as a son of a poor family. Even for eating, we often got lack of food. Whenever the time for eating, mother often gave me her portion of rice. While she was removing her rice into my bowl, she would say "Eat this rice, son. I'm not hungry".
That was Mother's First Lie.

When I was getting to grow up, the persevering mother gave her spare time for fishing in a river near our house, she hoped that from the fishes she got, she could gave me a little bit nutritious food for my growth. After fishing, she would cook the fishes to be a fresh fish soup, which raised my appetite. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the rest meat of fish, which was still on the bone of the fish I ate. My heart was touched when I saw it. I then used my chopstick and gave the other fish to her. But she immediately refused it and said "Eat this fish, son. I don't really like fish."
That was Mother's Second Lie.

Then, when I was in Junior High School, to fund my study, mother went to an economic enterprise to bring some used-matches boxes that would be stuck in. It gave her some money for covering our needs. As the winter came, I woke up from my sleep and looked at my mother who was still awoke, supported by a little candlelight and within her perseverance she continued the work of sticking some used-matches box. I said, "Mother, go to sleep, it's late, tomorrow morning you still have to go for work. "Mother smiled and said "Go to sleep, dear. I'm not tired."
That was Mother's Third Lie.

At the time of final term, mother asked for a leave from her work in order to accompany me. While the daytime was coming and the heat of the sun was starting to shine, the strong and persevering mother waited for me under the heat of the sun's shine for several hours. As the bell rang, which indicated that the final exam had finished, mother immediately welcomed me and poured me a glass of tea that she had prepared before in a cold bottle. The very thick tea was not as thick as my mother's love, which was much thicker. Seeing my mother covering with perspiration, I at once gave her my glass and asked her to drink too. Mother said "Drink, son. I'm not thirsty!".
That was Mother's Fourth Lie.

After the death of my father because of illness, my poor mother had to play her role as a single parent. By held on her former job, she had to fund our needs alone. Our family's life was more complicated. No days without sufferance. Seeing our family's condition that was getting worse, there was a nice uncle who lived near my house came to help us, either in a big problem and a small problem. Our other neighbors who lived next to us saw that our family's life was so unfortunate, they often advised my mother to marry again. But mother, who was stubborn, didn't care to their advice, she said "I don't need love."
That was Mother's Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my study and then got a job, it was the time for my old mother to retire. But she didn't want to; she was sincere to go to the marketplace every morning, just to sell some vegetable for fulfilling her needs. I, who worked in the other city, often sent her some money to help her in fulfilling her needs, but she was stubborn for not accepting the money. She even sent the money back to me. She said "I have enough money."
That was Mother's Sixth Lie.

After graduated from Bachelor Degree, I then continued my study to Master Degree. I took the degree, which was funded by a company through a scholarship program, from a famous University in America . I finally worked in the company. Within a quite high salary, I intended to take my mother to enjoy her life in America. But my lovely mother didn't want to bother her son, she said to me "I'm not used to."
That was Mother's Seventh Lie.

After entering her old age, mother got a flank cancer and had to be hospitalized. I, who lived in miles away and across the ocean, directly went home to visit my dearest mother. She lied down in weakness on her bed after having an operation. Mother, who looked so old, was staring at me in deep yearn. She tried to spread her smile on her face, even it looked so stiff because of the disease she held out. It was clear enough to see how the disease broke my mother's body, thus she looked so weak and thin.
I stared at my mother within tears flowing on my face. My heart was hurt, so hurt, seeing my mother on that condition. But mother, with her strength, said "Don't cry, my dear. I'm not in pain."
That was Mother's Eight Lie.

After saying her eight lies, She closed her eyes forever!

YES! MOTHER WAS AN ANGEL!!

'M' is for million things she gave me
'O' only that she's growing old
'T' is for the tears she shed for me
'H' is for her heart of gold
'E' is for her eyes with love-light shining in them
'R' means right, and right she'll always be

put them all together, they spell 'MOTHER'

a word that means the world to me

For those who are lucky to be still blessed with with your Mom's presence on Earth, this story is beautiful. For those who aren't so blessed, this is even more beautiful.

Family

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
Common courtesy you use,
But the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
And I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family,

An unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Debt

It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted. It is tough times, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town. He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 Euro note on the reception counter, and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to choose one.

The hotel proprietor takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the butcher.

The butcher takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the pig grower.

The pig grower takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of his feed and fuel.

The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave her "services" on credit.

The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 Euro note to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients there.

The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 Euro note back on the counter so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes his 100 Euro note, after saying that he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town.

No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt, and looks to the future with a lot of optimism. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States is doing business today.

Not dan syiling baru

Extra money credited to Penang civil servants a banking error

The extra money credited to them two days ago is the result of a banking error, not any so-called surprise Christmas ang pows, and the state authorities are seeking refund of the money. According to State Secretary Datuk Farizan Darus, 3,054 accounts are affected and the authorities are in the process of recovering the money.

“The error has been detected and the bank has taken the step to debit the money from the accounts and the process is expected to be completed by today,” he said.

Farizan said this at a press conference attended by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday.

Farizan said that initial investigations showed the error occurred as the bank went ahead with a previous order to credit the salaries which were meant to be cancelled.

According to Farizan, the bank had wanted to bank in the salaries on Dec 19 and the bonuses the following day, but the state government told the bank to credit both simultaneously on the same day.

“The bank credited the money on the 19th, but the order for the 20th was not cancelled so the money was credited again,” he explained.

Farizan said the state is waiting for a full report from the bank on whether there are monies which could not be recovered as the account holders have already withdrawn the money. He said clarification has to be made as certain parties have erroneously think that the state government wants to pay them twice.

Meanwhile, on another matter, Lim dismissed claims that the state authorities have failed to address traffic congestion on the island. Instead, he said, the authorities have taken various measures to alleviate the congestion.

Among others, Lim pointed out that the Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP) has allocated RM37 million for Phase One of the Jalan Masjid Negeri Traffic Improvement Plan.

Under the plan, various projects, including upgrading works, are being undertaken. Among the roads being upgraded or widened are Lorong Batu Lanchang, the Lebuhraya Thean Tek junction, Jalan Masjid Negeri, Jalan Air Hitam, Jalan Scotland, and the Udini roundabout.

The projects under the phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, while Phase Two involves constructing a flyover at the Jalan Masjid Negeri and Lebuhraya Batu Lanchang junction.

Handling The Troublesome Mind

A Buddhist story about freeing oneself from the tyranny of thoughts, paving way for a silent mind. A short story about leading one from the mind to the no mind, a state of eternal peace.

Gautama Buddha one day asked one of his disciples to beg alms from a certain household and report to him at dusk. The monk returned to the master as per his command only to let him know that he would not beg for alms in that particular house again. When pressed for the reason, the monk answered, " I savoured the delicious food served and I suddenly felt an urge to eat something sweet. The lady of the house offered me a sweet dish. I then felt like sleeping and the lady immediately asked me to rest for a while. I was surprised by her ability to read my thoughts that I asked how she knew of my desires?"

"The lady replied, 'Witnessing my thoughts, my mind has become silent now that I can now see other thoughts as well"

The monk continued to Buddha, " Looking at her I had sexual thoughts also and now I am embarrassed to see her again for alms as she would have read my sensual desire as well. So I do not want to visit her house for alms" The Buddha said that the monk ought to go to the particular house for alms again. He advised, "This time you will go as a changed person. Just be aware of your thoughts, every bite of your food and every step that you take. You will just have to watch every thought that arises, but do not co-operate with it. Disassociate with it and do not analyze it. No thought is yours, they come from outside!"

The monk did as advised by Gautama Buddha. He remained a mere witness to his thoughts and there was no co-operation from his end. There was a change within him, an inner peace, though the world continued to remain the same.

The one and only trouble is one's own mind. When one knows one's true self, the mind ceases to be.

our chef for western food...

chef othman inform kesemua chef bertauliah specially yg seniors ni bleh tau bahan apa dlm sesuatu masakn dgn bau je...malah mereka juga bleh tau masakn apa ada wine, masakan apa kurang garam, gula etc hanya dgn bau...sebab tu juri2 masakn specially chef2 ni bleh tau masakn kita complete or not bila tgk je...malah chef bila masuk kitchen if ada benda yg hangus depa bleh ja detect apa yg hangus tu tanpa tgk.....waah sha salutela chef2 ni

pekena teh o sementara tunggu chef masakan utk kami...feeling ala2 hotel plak....tapi teh o menspoilkan feeling tu

mushroom soup...senang & sedap

spaghetti bolognese yang mewah dgn daging

psss ni ade rahsia sha nak inform...spaghetti
bolognese, spaghetti seafood & carbonara bila makan kat hotel2 tak kira2la 1 star ke 6 star kecuali sri malaysia wajib ditambah WINE ya....so berhati-hati...

spaghetti seafood...carbonara cuma rasa ciput2 je cos ramai aunties muak dgn cheese nye

presentation bagi sesuatu makanan adalah penting....tak leh ada cap jari ke sisa2 makanan ke kat pinggan bila disajikan...if not tolak markah

ni plak bahan utk tartar sauce....la sauce yg depa dok hidang ngan fish & chip tu

selain tartar sauce kami juga diajar buat thousand island & sauce lain nama apa ntah...sat balik pas belek kitab sha update ye...

L&P juga wajib ada dlm western food

actually lepas dish ni kami dihidangkan lamb stick yg super duper lembut + pepper sauce yg umppph terangkat tapi tak dapek gambonya cos battery hp kong plak.....bukan gambo tu je...gambo kami amik ramai2 pun sha tak dpt...t bila member sha kasi ,sha upload balik ya...

1 more thing...bila kita makan kat hotel if any sauce yg kita makan such as pepper sauce ke, tartar sauce ke dah habis kita bleh minta tambah secara percuma ya...jgn malu2 or segan2 kucing nak minta tambah...kita bayar mahal so sudah tentu kita diberi keistimewaan....malah if daging yg diberi pada kita tak masak pun bleh kita request utk masakkan balik & sudah tentu FOC

korang nak tau tak nape makan di hotel mahal?.....selain dr kebersihan, presentation sebab lainnya ialah bahan2 dlm makanan yg digunakan adalah mahal nak mamp k & oso susah nak cari..even kat tesco, pacific pun susah nak jumpa.....mcm kat penang ni hanya ada satu kedai je yg jual bahan2 ni tu pun special for hotels....if kita nak bli satu atau dua mmg harga lain la...so pandai2 la kelentong if nak harga hotel...nama kedai tu sha tak ingat tapi kat area pulau tikus dekat2 dgn maybank tu....

chef cakap if brg makanan harga mahal kualitinya mmg bagus....minyak yg dlm peket tu mmgla murah tapi bleh 2 kali masak je....if lebih dah jadi toksik utk kita....same goes to garam...lebih baik guna garam mahal cos garam murah adalah sisa2 kotoran lepas memilih garam mahal...garam plg bagus is halal gel (garam bukit)...mmg baik utk kesihatan...

so next time bile bli brg makanan pilihla yg berkualiti bukan yg murah....utk kebaikan kita gak...sapa tak nak hidup lama kan

last dish is fish & chip....eh...western ada guna pinggan silver ke?

hehehe dish ni chef bungkuskan utk kami bawa balik umah....
so pic disnap lepas charge battery & dihidangkan by chef sha

so pada readers yg nak recipenya t sha buat entry lain 1 by 1 ye...

insya ALLAH sha akan cuba utk postkan kesemua recipe yg sha blajar dlm course ni...

sharing is caring right...bak kata chef othman dia bukan mengajar sebab kerja dia tapi juga sebab dia anggap mengajar sebagai amal...dia harap ilmu yg dia bagi pada kita berganda & memberi manfaat kepada dia specially kepada anak2 dia....

sebab tu kita dlm Islam diajar supaya jgn kedekut ilmu...cos setitis ilmu bleh menjadi berjuta ilmu bila ianya berterusan diajar & dlm masa yg sama kita yang memberi ilmu tu plak diberi pahala/kebaikan sebanyak ilmu tu berkembang...moga kita mendapat manfaat melalui ilmu2 yg sha curahkan kat blog ni
